The Nantuapan Collection is inspired by the Nantuapan motif from the Murut Tahol tribe of Alutok, Tenom. Rooted in stories of gathering, unity, and balance, the motif reflects moments of gratitude shared after harvest and hunting, where men and women would come together around a jar of tapai. One legend tells of weavers so absorbed in creating this intricate pattern that they neglected rest and nourishment, eventually falling ill, reminding us to stay connected and present with one another while balancing passion and care.
